Send updates

Hello family!

I know I haven't updated in awhile, but I was out of the country! Not really an excuse, but I was having a lot of fun . So, send updates. Here are some things I know:

Wayne and Reva had no electricty for almost a week and it was extremely cold. Charlie and Rita came to stay with us in Dallas while they attended a wedding. It was great to see them. Grandpa Oscar loves living in a house instead of an apartment. Debbie and Paul and David and Laura are getting tons of snow dumped on them as I type this. I am still unemployed, so I need your prayers.

Take care!

Update and Family Reunion 2010

This summer, Mindy Friez travelled the world as usual. She went to many exciting places. She did some mission work in Romania. She helped at orphanges and a children's hospital. After that she went to Germany, England, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Belgium, France and Holland. She feels very blessed that she got to go.

Andrew Friez turned one on August 30! I can't believe it! Debbie and Paul went to go see the family for the occasion. Mindy was there as well. Debbie and Paul will be going to Orland this month for a vacation.

Charlie has asked me to post about the Family Reunion for next year. Here is the information from his email. Please let him know what you think.

"I plan to have the reunion in Branson in 2010. My questions are 1) Branson okay? and 2) since we have some conflict with the 4th of July but need a 3-day weekend for others should we move the Reunion weekend to either Memorial Day weekend in late May or Labor Day weekend in early September?conflict with the 4th of July but need a 3-day weekend for others should we move to either Memorial Day in late May or Labor Day in early September? Please let me know your family's desires (you, your kids, and siblings). Thank you! Also, with Jan Schureman's help, we are trying to find accommodations with kitchenettes so that younger folks that desire to have some meals in rooms can do so (or maybe even some of us older folks like me). I have one niece who must prepare food for son who has food allergies and kids that may not want to spend money eating out every meal. I don't know yet if we will be successful finding affordable kitchenette rooms." His email is cengle@cox.net or chuck@cwengle.com.

I am still in the Turks and Caicos and having a great time. I will keep updating my blog with pictures. Have a great October everyone!

End of Summer Update

I hope everyone had a great summer. I haven't been very good about asking for updates from everyone, but I will give you what I know. Debbie Friez and her husband Paul came to New York for the weekend earlier in the summer and we had dinner. Debbie comes alot for work and we try to see eachother when she does. David Barton came with the school he works and I had lunch with him and his roommate. My Dad came up at the end of June to help me move, but the move didn't happen so we just hung around New York. We went to Coney Island. I got a nice sunburn despite the sunscreen. I moved back to Texas last week. Along the way my Dad and I stopped to see my Grandpa in Bella Vista. I am moving to the Turks and Caicos till the end of November. I will post pictures while I am there. Let me know what is going on with everyone this fall!

New addition

I received the following email from Rhonda yesterday:

Hello, Tiffany and Ferguson relatives,

We have a new granddaughter born Tuesday, May 5, at 1:04 p.m. Her name is Brynlee Auburn Caplena. Grandparents are Rhonda and Derin and Great-Grandmother is Alice Ferguson Dickey. Parents are Aaron and Laura. Brynlee weighed 7lbs.14oz., and parents and big brother, Dayson(who is two) are doing well. They brought the baby home yesterday. She has lots of dark brown hair and chubby cheeks. Of course, we think that she is adorable! We just wanted to share the news of our most recent blessing-a new grandbaby. We hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the warm spring weather.

Marathon Running

Lara Teter and Keri Engle are running in a marathon to raise money for the fight against leukemia. Below is the letter that Lara sent out. I cannot post both letters, but Keri also needs our support. To the side on the links is their webpages for the marathon. Please support them either with money or moral support! Go Lara and Keri!

Dear family and friends,

I have lost my marbles, and I'm going to run 26.2 miles around San Diego to find them! May 31st, 2009 my sister Keri and I, along with other Team in Training members, will be running the Rock n' Roll Marathon in San Diego, California. This will be my first marathon, a huge undertaking, and I need your support to accomplish my goals.

I'm not going to make you run with me, but you can still help. Team in Training (TNT) supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in finding a cure for blood cancers. I have a goal of raising $4,100 for LLS. I am running in honor of a 10-year-old boy named Michael. He's battling Hodgkins Lymphoma, and I would love nothing more than for him to have many more years of picking on his younger sister, just as I have with Keri.

My father lost both of his parents to Leukemia. I never met my Grandpa Engle, and I don't remember my Grandma Engle. She died when I was only 4 months old. Dad ran marathons in his youth; Keri and I want to make him proud and memorialize his parents.

I know times are tough, but families dealing with blood cancers have to be tough. 75% of all funds raised goes directly to research and patient services. Please make checks payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and e-mail me at bzzlarabzz@gmail.com for information on where to send it, or contribute online at my TNT site http://pages.teamintraining.org/ks/rnr09/lteter by March 1st. I can accept donations later than that date, but the earlier the better so I can better reach my goal! Remember your donation is 100% tax deductible, so please give generously to LLS, so we can all make it to the finish line.

Thank you for your support, Lara

p.s. Please pass this along to anyone who you know that might want to help find a cure! Thanks, again.
